Panzerbeobachtungswagen IV Ausf J

Panzerbeobachtunswagen IV Ausf J

This is a Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf J converted to a Panzerbeobachtungswagen IV Ausf J using the superbly detailed and useful Tasca upgrade set, Eduard PE sets, Eduard aluminium barrel, DML late Panzer IV-stlye tracks (indie, but not magic, unfortunately), some scratching and a rather exciting early foray into detailing for me.
I completed this project inOctober 2008.
The AFV was painted using Lifecolor acrylics and a heap of MIGment work at the end. Later on I will compare this to a more recent superdetailed Dragon version, which at the time of uploading is, as yet, unpainted.
I hope you like this model, I certainly enjoyed building it a great deal.

  1. Can't argue with the finish on this one Bill, very nicely battered

  2. Thanks Spurty. I got the painting the interior of the muzzle break Rotbrown idea off of Jurgington. Nice touch that one.

  5. Thanks Jurgy

I truly enjoyed this build from start to finish. This was built at the naissance of my superdetailing skills; still a little shaky, but on the right track.

I got thoroughly stuck in with the pastel pigments at the end too!

I'll post up the Panzer IV Ausf H (late) as soon as I can.

    G'day!
